Data Protection Essentials

This session introduces the essentials of data protection and the responsibilities that apply to organisations of every size. It explores the seven core data protection principles and the practical tools businesses can use to demonstrate compliance, including privacy notices, Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs), retention policies, procedures and staff training. The session also looks at the role of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and why data protection should be embedded across an organisation rather than treated as a tick-box exercise.

The session is followed by a learning review consisting of ten multiple choice questions with opportunity to retake if required. To allow flexible learning, students can leave and return to the course at any time without losing completed sections.

A certificate is provided upon successful completion.
